Charlie Evans (he/they) grew up in Stewartsville, New Jersey and currently lives in Bellingham, Washington. They have a bachelors degree in communications and creative writing from Virginia Tech. Charlie’s work has been featured by the Sue Boynton Prize and Trails Magazine. Charlie currently works for the Pacific Northwest Trail Association as a communications manager. Their first chapbook, Gay Sex, will be released by Sibling Rivalry Press in June 2026. Their first full length poetry book, The Quarter Life Crisis of an American Transsexual, will be released in 2028.
On both his AT and PCT thru hikes, he consistently blogged for the Trek and recorded trail updates for their podcast series: Trail Correspondents. Some of his freelance backpacking articles can be found on this website.
